Surah KAHF has Four stories in it.

1) The People Of The Cave Its the story of young men who lived in a disbelieving town, so they decided to migrate for the sake of ALLAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALAH) and run away. ALLAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALAH) rewards them with mercy in the cave and protection from the sun. They woke up (over 300 years later) and found the entire village believers. MORAL:TRIAL OF FAITH. 2) The Owner Of Two Gardens A story of a man whom ALLAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALAH) blessed with two beautiful gardens, but the man forgot to thank the ONE who blessed him with everything and he even dared to doubt ALLAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALAH) regarding the afterlife. So his garden was destroyed - he regretted ,but was too late and his regret did not benefit him. MORAL:TRIAL OF WEALTH. 3) Musa(ALAYHIS SALAAM) and Khidr(ALAYHIS SALAAM) When Musa(ALAYHIS SALAAM) was asked-“Who’s the most knowledgeable of the people of earth?” Musa(ALAYHIS SALAAM) said: "Me"...,but ALLAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALAH) revealed to him that there’s someone who Knows more than him. Musa(ALAYHIS SALAAM) traveled to the man and learnt how the Divine Wisdom can sometimes be hidden in matters which we perceive as bad. MORAL:TRIAL OF KNOWLEDGE. 4) Dhul-Qarnayn Its a story of the great King that was given knowledge and power and was going around the world, helping people and spreading all that's good. He was able to overcome the problem of Yajooj-Majooj and build a massive dam with the help of people whom he could not even understand.

Translation

O Allah, forgive me, have mercy upon me and unite me with the [highest] companions.

Or [lest] it say when it sees the punishment, "If only I had another turn so I could be among the doers of good."

Or [lest] it say when it sees the punishment, "If only I had another turn so I could be among the doers of good." But yes, there had come to you My verses, but you denied them and were arrogant, and you were among the disbelievers.

My Brothers and Sisters, Witr Prayer is one of the greatest acts of worship that draws one closer to Allah.

My respectable brothers and sisters in Islam, Ishaa prayer is fast approaching, so let get ourselves prepare with joy, cleanliness and humility to prostrate ourselves for Almighty Allah. In Islam, after performing the obligatory deeds, one of the best ways of drawing closer to Allah is by performing voluntary good deeds. So therefore (after) performing Ishaa prayer, one can perform 2 sunnah rakats, and (before) Ishaa (there is no) Sunnah Prayer to be performed for Ishaa.   My Brothers and Sisters, Witr Prayer is one of the greatest acts of worship that draws one closer to Allah.   It can be performed by praying 1 rakat only, 3 rakats continuously (with one Tashahud and Salam on the last Rakat) or 2 rakats and after Salam you pray 1 rakat on it own and say Salam.   Witr prayer is a confirmed sunnah (Sunnah Mu'akkadah) which the Muslim should observe regularly and not neglect. Imam Ahmad (May Allah have mercy on him) said: "whoever neglects Witr is a bad man whose testimony should not be accepted. This indicates that Witr prayer is something that is confirmed May Allah help us to perform our Salaah well.

Emulating the attributes of Allah. Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. If a person loves an attribute of Allah, then this will help him to reach Him. Allah is as-Sabur, THE PATIENT, and there is none that is more patient and forbearing than Him. It was reported that Allah revealed to Daawuud (Alaihi salaam), “ Have my attributes, as one of My attributes is that I am Sabur (patient).” Allah loves His attributes and characteristics, and He loves to see the effects of His attributes on His slaves. As He is beautiful, so He loves beauty; as He is all-forgiving, He loves forgiveness; as He is generous, He loves generosity; as He is all-knowing, HE loves people of knowledge; as He is strong and powerful, so a strong believer is more beloved to Him than a weaker one; as He is Sabur (patient), so he loves those who have patience; as He is shakur (grateful), so He loves those who give thanks. As He loves those who have His characteristics, so He is with them, and this is a special and unique type of companionship. Sickness is evil but if we remain patient it is something good because our sins are being wiped. Abu Huraira related that the Prophet (Pbuh) said, ‘for any trouble, illness, worry, grief hurt, or sorrow which afflicts a Muslim, even the prick of a thorn, Allah removes in its stead some of his (minor) sins”(Bukhari, Muslim) So if this person remains patient then its something good but if he is not patient then it becomes evil. May Allah aid our efforts to be patient in any situation we find ourselves. Aameen.
